The opening story
Most molded grating sold here is shipped in from overseas. Ours is made in Port Klang. That means local stock, local cutting, and a team you can call.
Made here
Molded in our own factory, not shipped in.
Certified here
Moulded open mesh gratings, BS 4592-6:2008.

No full panels to cut on site.
How it’s made
Continuous fiberglass strands are woven through thermosetting resin in a mould, so each panel comes out as one solid grid.
65% resin
The resin carries the corrosion resistance, so it lasts for years with no maintenance.
Much lighter than metal
A full 4 × 12 ft MG25(38/38) panel weighs 55 kg.
Grip built in
An anti-slip top surface. Grit top on request.
Cut to size · no wastage
In the market, you buy a full 4 × 12 ft panel and cut it on site. You pay for the offcut, and your crew loses time to cutting. Send us your sizes. We cut and quote to size.

The 100 kg rule · walkways
For basic walkways, match the thickness to the span. Supports 2 ft (610 mm) apart: use 25 mm grating. Supports 3 ft (914 mm) apart: use 38 mm grating.
The support rule
Placing equipment or loaded pallets (500 to 1000 kg) on the floor? Never let the support gap go over 2 to 3 ft (610 to 914 mm), whichever thickness you choose.
Maximum loads already include a safety factor of 2.0. SIRIM certification covers the spans listed on our licence schedule. Wider spans follow our own engineering tables. Max UDL is per m², Max CL per metre. For pedestrian traffic only (BS 4592). Not for vehicle loads.

Concrete recess
Most projects in Malaysia set molded grating into a concrete recess. The span in these tables is the clear, open distance between the ledge faces, not the length of the grating. Always leave a minimum ledge of 50 mm on each side.
Span too wide?
You don’t always need a thicker grating. An extra steel crossbeam or concrete support underneath halves the span.
Resin and surface
Orthophthalic polyester
Durable and long lasting, to replace rusting steel. For construction and commercial use where less chemical resistance is needed.
Isophthalic polyester
A middle level of resistance. The right choice for splash and spill contact, and a very good general-purpose resin.
Vinyl ester
The most chemical resistance, for the hardest areas: a broad range of acids and caustics.
Fire rated
A fire rated version of each resin, for areas that need a high fire rating.
Working with chemicals? Send us the chemical, the strength and the temperature. We check the right resin before we quote. This is a general guide, not a chemical resistance chart.
Covered grating
An FRP plate laminated on top of the grating, with a gel coat for UV protection. Finishes: smooth, diamond, logo-embedded or gritted (silica sand or quartz).
Stair treads
Widths 228, 305 and 367 mm, lengths 762 and 914 mm, or cut to size.
Tread covers
Fiberglass tread covers, 3 mm thick. Light, non-conductive and easy to install.
Fixing and measuring
How to measure a drain recess
Two clips, for molded or pultruded grating. Both attach the grating to its supports. The Disc clip is for moderate loads.
Illustration, not to scale.
Measuring a recess: the grating size is the recess, wall to wall. The span for the load tables is the drain opening, ledge face to ledge face. Leave at least 50 mm of ledge on each side.

Where molded grating goes
Molded grating or chequered plate covers, set in a mild steel or FRP frame.
For: Town councils and developers
Wet and corrosive, every day. FRP doesn’t rust, so the walkway lasts.
For: STP operators
Non-conductive and corrosion resistant, around process lines and chemicals.
For: Plant and semiconductor engineers
Rust-free, non-conductive walkways around cooling towers and gensets.
For: Data centre engineers
Our fiberglass (FRP) gratings are non-conductive. Custom sizes.
For: Utility contractors
Maintenance walkways between solar panels. Light and rust-free.
For: Solar installers and building owners
For pedestrian traffic only (BS 4592). Not for vehicle loads.

Buyer’s guide · molded vs pultruded
Molded grating is one piece, strong both ways. Pultruded grating is bars and cross-bars, strongest along the bars.
From the MuiGrate catalogue comparison. Open area from our size tables: molded 38–69%, pultruded 50–60%. Pultruded bars carry 65% glass to 35% resin. Molded grating carries 65% resin, which is where its corrosion resistance comes from. These are estimated values and may change with the actual formulation.
FRP manhole & sump covers · for town and municipal councils
Steel covers get stolen and rust out. FRP covers have nothing worth stealing, and they stay put.
Built for the street
Range
Round or rectangular. Chequered plate or grating covers, with a mild steel or FRP frame. Standard sizes, or made to size for tenders.
We can put your council’s or company’s own logo on the cover.
Drains with a concrete recess
Grating without a frame: gritted for walkways, chequered plate to hide the drain. Where the drain needs access, keep pieces to 1.5 m so they lift out easily.
